Mandala coloring - 1

I have been coloring a lot in past 2 months... Reason, well, I was bedridden due to a surgery I went through and there was nothing else I could entertain myself with. Sure, I spent most of my time reading books. Yet, when I got bored I started coloring. I bought a Mandala coloring book and started coloring it with the Camlin water brush pens I have. The results are good and it sure diverted my mind from the surgery recovery pain.

Here is one of those Mandalas post coloring:

Well, now that I remember I used some Faber Castell sketch pens too, especially for the lighter shades. Oh yeah, I also used glitter pens for those tiny circles.

The Gradiant effect is done using the water brush only... Well, I started loving those intricate design coloring... Will do more.

Here's another photo frame I had designed. Before gifting it to a friend who's son was celebrating his first birthday, to suit the occasion I added some blings to it and voila it entirely changed the look of it.

Here are the clicks.

I wish to manage my time well to be able to create the things that I love to do. God please help me.

Quilled photo frame sent to Parth Samthaan

An old photo frame... I know, I know some would say it's a girly photo frame for a guy's picture in it... Whatever if it is... I like this photo frame for the matching red color in the photo :)

800 likes on Facebook page

I just recently found out that my Facebook page has got 800+ likes now. I'm really not uploading anything in there. Just tired with my daily life that I hardly any time ing that page. And believe me for me the most boring work is to upload the pics of my work. I love to do my quilling projects. Yet posting the pics, or talking about them, pricing the products for someone who wants to buy are the toughest work for me. Be it my IT job, be it solving problems and write error free programming, I'm always pathetic when it comes to show off the work. I'm sure that's why I never progressed as my other colleagues. I'm always busy with my work, be it house hold activities or office with or reading books or teaching my son or doing art. So honestly no time for show off. Which is not a good thing cause if you have done something you should be able to show it properly too. Otherwise it looses its value. God, please give me that quality.

Anyway,  I just wanted to let you all know, who appreciate my work by liking my Facebook page, that I'm really sorry for not being able to post more work. I'm not sure I'll be able to devote time for it in recent times.

I'll surely try to get past the hurdles I'm facing right now. Hoping for the best. Thank you all for the appreciation.

Quilled Calligraphy - "PARTH"

Well, it's been a long long long time I wrote anything on my blogs.

And I seem to be spending more time on FB than on Blogs... which is very bad actually.

Anyway... After a long time I had my hands on Quilled Calligraphy. I made a small one in 2010 December when I actually started learning Quilling and the calligraphy said "2011". It was a good attempt however, I had no idea how people do such minute work so beautifully.

I tried searching tutorials about quilled calligraphy. I didn't get any video tutorials. I got one pictorial tutorial and it taught me about the right technique. I can't find that tutorial now though. Well, the lessons learnt then actually became very helpful when I tried this new project.

It took me 38 hours to design, create and get it framed. There were few tiring nights and hectic weekends which resulted in bad health as well. However, what kept me going is the deadline. The final result made me feel that the time spent was worthwhile.

The best thing I like about this creation is that I tried to make the spirals with that small bend at the center that usually happens when we use the quilling pen, and it was successful. That's also another reason why the design looks better.

Here's the final product...

Project 'Mayur' - Quilled Peacock

Finally... I have finished the complex project I was working on. And yes the Colorful Peacock is here... landed on my canvas...

Each of those Peacock feather eyes took me at least 1 hour to prepare... Collecting ideas to finish the feather took a whole lot of time... Creating it took even more number of hours...

Actually it's the feather part that took a whole lot of time to conceptualize and then prepare.

I had the peacock feather eyes already... 15 of them. What I lacked was the idea to put those feather eyes together and still make it look as natural as I can to the real peacock. That was the hardest part. And while collecting ideas and thoughts, by seeing the real peacock pictures and the amazing quillers across world who have already created some amazing peacocks... I came across a beautiful Quilled Peacok. At first I couldn't find out who has prepared that but guessed who it could be. And yes, upon several days of browsing I found the owner of it - it is Yulia Brodskaya's creation - my inspiration for the love of quilling art.

I know there are still a lot of improvements to be done and I am striving to correct all those mistake in my future creations.

So, here I present to you my very own creation - our national bird - my favorite bird - which inspires me in many ways - my Peacock - 'Mayur'

It took more than 35 hours to complete this piece... And thus I would love to hear your thoughts on this piece of my work!

My first attempt to make a jewelry box - way back in 2012

Found some old pics of my learning phase experiments... A Jewelry box.

The photos are not that great... and the box was also a first attempt... so perfection is missing from it. Yet I was so happy with the output... Hope you like it too!

Sneak Peek - Bringing out the beauty to life

I feel really bad when I see the resources I have but wasn't able to find time to bring the most beauty in them, by them, with them.

Well, I am again getting into the process of thinking all good things, and all good feelings and all good dreams to bring the beauty to life... and thus, I have started spending a little time almost each day to the craft I am most passionate about - Quilling.

Here's a sneak peak of some frames I am making...

Yes, I am bringing out the beauty in the paper frames I have... Just plain frames!!

There's a lot of scope and opportunity in that limited available space and that's what inspires me the most!! Will upload more pics later!!

Hope you like my work!
Thanks for visiting my blog!
Happy to serve!
